A stone. In a box.
Yes, it seems they are sending all their registered customers a stone in a box. Chances are, if you have registered a Microsoft product for business use, you will be getting a rock in the mail any day.

With Enough Marketing Budget..

You Can Move A Mountain
For staggeringly-wealthy Microsoft, that possibility appears to have become a reality, with the latest salvo in their attack on 'software piracy' by the supplier of household-name PC packages such as the Windows operating system.

To promote their campaign, Microsoft have been sending their customers an awareness mailer consisting of a rock enclosed in a box, with suitably corny literature.

Pebble Power
Well, when our pebble arrived, we had a field day. The puns were flying around, and we got completely carried away. But then we also had some more serious discussion about the sheer lunacy of a campaign on this scale, and the result is Stones Reunited.

No Stone Unreturned
Stones Reunited has a website where you can read more about this insane story, read what others have to say, and support our new cause: to get the recipients return each and every stone to Microsoft, so they can put them back where they belong. In our opinion, no stone should be left unreturned.

Stone Memorial
Response to the Stones Reunited counter-campaign has been overwheming, so much so that we quickly realised we need a way to cover the bandwidth costs. We decided to set up the Stones Reunited Shop featuring merchanise that pokes gentle fun at this marketing madness. Additional ideas for graphics, slogans etc very welcome. Post ideas in the comments here or contact us via the email link.

What Will You Do With Yours?
Got your rocks off Microsoft yet? While encouraging you to return them, perhaps you have a more ingenious proposal?
